Client: Karaka North Growth Node Residents.
Objective: To create an opportunity for a small rural village to develop at Karaka North.
What we did: Provided urban design advice on potential village development outcomes and input into proposed District Plan provisions to facilitate a range of residential options and a community focus centered around the existing community facilities at Linwood and Dyke Roads.
Outcome: The planning provisions are currently being worked through with Auckland Council via the appeals process.
Future development of the village relies on appropriate servicing, and needs to ensure an appropriate interface with the surrounding rural environment and existing activities. We identified initial constraints and opportunities and have developed a conceptual development plan to guide future development.
