Client: Kirkdale Investments Limited.
Objective: Rototuna is identifed as a growth cell for the north east of Hamilton for a mix of uses including significant community facilities such as sports fields, swimming pool, library, low to high density residential, a secondary school and commercial and industrial business opportunities. The challenge includes determining an appropriate urban form, and formulating planning mechanisms to achieve the desired outcome.
What we did: Provided urban design advice assistance to a major landowner in Rototuna investigating open space areas, stormwater management and utilisation for amenity and town centre design. Provided urban design evidence at the Council Hearing for Plan Change 12 to the Hamilton District Plan.
Outcome: Awaiting a decision on the plan change. This project is ongoing.
